Paperwhites – Day 39
Day 59 – Winter Walk-Off 2016
Today I accepted the Winter Walk-Off 2016 Challenge from fellow blogger Les Parks and his A Tidewater Gardener blog. I decided to head to one of my favorite places in the neighborhood, Turtle Lake located in the Carolanne Farms Neighborhood Park in Virginia Beach. This area is part of the Elizabeth River Nature and Canoe… Continue reading Day 59 – Winter Walk-Off 2016
Day 153 – Smell the Flowers
Take Time to Smell the Flowers – Sasha loves it when new flowers come into the house. We could all take a lesson from my little girl, Olympus OM-D E-M1, 1/8 sec at f/4, ISO 100.
Monochromatic – Day 147 #CY365
Tulips in monochrome. Canon 7D, 1/15 sec @ f/8.0, ISO 800, 100mm macro.
Check Up – Day 132 #CY365
Today prompt – “Check Up”, take care of yourself and make your next doctor’s appointment. Canon G15,… Continue reading Check Up – Day 132 #CY365
May Flowers – Day 122 #CY365

Following Katrina’s lead, I took my picture from below using the face cam on my iPhone. I liked the way it captured the sun’s rays illuminating the daisy.… Continue reading May Flowers – Day 122 #CY365
At Last! – Day 115 #CY365
Spring is here at last. Several weeks late this year but the strawberries are blooming, so ripe bright red berries can’t be too far away. Canon G15, 1/500 sec @ f/3.2, ISO 200 in macro mode.
Spring – Day 80 #CY365
The Pieris japonica ‘Valley Rose’ are in full bloom for the first time. These wonderful bushes are flanking either side of our front porch and were recommended and installed last summer with our new front yard landscaping design from Bill Maxwell of Maxwell Landscaping Services. Canon 5D Mark II, 1/250th sec @ f/11.0, ISO 1600.
Emerging – Day 68 #CY365
The cold winter has made all the flowers emerge later this year. These daffodils are just getting ready to open up. With warmer temperature forecast for this week, I expect flowers will be opening up everywhere. Canon 5D Mark II 1/250 sec @ f/8.0, ISO 800, 100mm macro with LED ring light.
